Expert Team on Agromet Data Issues

The Expert Team on Agromet Data Issues reviews and updates regulatory/technical documents with regards to the Drought National early warning services (EWS) Implementation Plan, Regional Agrometeorological/Drought Centres, and Rolling Review of Requirements, and linking observational data from agrometeorological networks from partners into WIS, WIGOS, and the WMO Integrated Processing and Prediction System (WIPPS)).

Activities: 

  • Updating and maintaining the Rolling Review of Requirements for Agricultural Meteorology;
  • Explore linking observational data from agrometeorological networks from partners (Such as FAO) into WIS, WIGOS, and the WMO Integrated Processing and Prediction System (WIPPS).
  • Explore the establishment of any regional drought or agrometeorological center.
  • Liaise with the relevant INFCOM subsidiary bodies if needed on items a), b) and c).
