WMO Regional Association VI Workshop on HydroSOS
About the workshop
The WMO Regional Association VI Workshop on HydroSOS is a practical step in the regional engagement process supporting Members in exploring how the Hydrological Status and Outlook System (HydroSOS) can be used to strengthen hydrological services and decision support.
Building on the initial online HydroSOS preparatory session and the establishment of the RA VI continuous knowledge exchange platform, the workshop will provide a forum for Members and partners to exchange experiences, discuss implementation needs and identify opportunities for advancing HydroSOS at national and regional levels.
Discussions will focus on practical aspects of HydroSOS implementation, including the use of hydrological information for drought monitoring and water resources management, data and information pathways, service integration, and opportunities for cooperation among Members and partners.
The workshop will support the exchange of Member experiences through the sharing of relevant HydroSOS case studies and will contribute to identifying possible next steps towards a regional implementation approach.
The active participation of Members and partners will be essential to ensure that the regional HydroSOS implementation approach reflects operational needs, national experiences and diverse perspectives across WMO Region VI. The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to contribute directly to the discussions, share good practices and help shape the next steps for HydroSOS implementation in the Region.
The workshop will also provide technical input to the discussions of the RA VI Hydrological Assembly, the Regional Association’s sessional committee on hydrology, ensuring that key messages and outcomes from the workshop contribute to the continued regional dialogue on HydroSOS implementation and hydrological priorities.
Programme, participation details, workshop materials and outcomes will be made available through this webpage.
