Background
The Marine Meteorological Monitoring Survey (MMMS) has been conducted periodically since 2005.
The survey results contribute to the following outcomes:
- To monitor the effectiveness of the weather and sea bulletins produced and transmitted by Meteorological Services.
- To understand the perception of mariners regarding whether Maritime Safety Information (MSI) services provided through the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) by Member States meet user requirements.
The results of the MMMS provide useful insight for review by METAREA Coordinators.
