Within the Early Warnings and Severe Weather component, the WMO Technical Coordination Initiative (TCI) strengthens the translation of global standards and guidance into operational early warning systems that protect lives and livelihoods. Through the Technical Coordination Unit (TCU), expertise is mobilized from across the WMO community — including NMHSs, Regional Climate Centres, technical experts, academia, and development partners — to support the preparation and implementation of multi-hazard early warning projects aligned with Members’ priorities. The initiative facilitates coordination between WMO technical bodies and operational projects, ensuring that lessons learned from country implementation continuously inform guidance, capacity development, and future investments. By fostering collaboration across regions and strategic objectives, EW4All activities under the TCI promote integrated approaches to risk knowledge, forecasting, dissemination, and preparedness, while demonstrating the value of WMO support to Members and donors.
