The Advisory Group on Severe Weather Forecasting (AG-SWF) provides technical guidance and global coordination to strengthen severe weather forecasting services across regions. It develops WMO standards, advises on regional programmes, promotes data and knowledge sharing, supports capacity building, and fosters collaboration with other initiatives. Comprising experts from RSMCs, WMCs, and associated centres, the Group meets regularly and reports its progress to the Standing Committee on Disaster Risk Reduction (SC-DRR).
