TCI - Infrastructure (WIGOS, WIS, WIPPS)
| The Infrastructure (WIGOS, WIS, WIPPS) component of the TCI is led by Rabia Merrouchi, who acts as Scientific Officer (WIGOS Operations) at WMO. |
|---|
In the Infrastructure systems (WIGOS, WIS, and WIPPS), the TCI supports the coordinated implementation of the global infrastructure and systems that underpin weather, climate, water, and environmental services. The TCU helps align projects with WMO technical regulations and recommended practices by coordinating expertise from observing, data exchange, and forecasting communities across the WMO network. Through strategic technical guidance, project monitoring, and collaboration with Members and partners, the initiative strengthens interoperability, data sharing, and integrated processing and prediction capabilities. Knowledge exchange activities and technical coordination mechanisms also ensure that operational feedback from implementation informs continuous improvement of global systems, while enhancing Members’ capacity to contribute to and benefit from the international hydrometeorological infrastructure.
