Resolution 3.1/2 (RA VI-19(I))
The RA VI High-Level Task Team on Sustainable Development (HLTT-SD) supports advocacy for WMO policies in connection with sustainable development goals (SDGs) within Regional Association VI (RA VI). It engages in key regional and international fora and reports to the RA VI Management Group.
1. Mandate
Promote WMO policies in connection with SDGs, and advocate for their implementation in various events, such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Regional Forum on Sustainable Development or the World Information Summit on the Information Society [Secretariat].
Share examples of good practices and successful implementations of WMO policies in connection with SDGs.
Assist in disseminating information and best practices related to sustainable development.
2. Composition
Membership of the Task Team includes representatives of the Management Group and invited experts, as needed and as selected by the RA VI president. The discussions on the contributions to specific events will be done in a virtual mode and on a case-by-case basis.
