Sand and Dust Storms Warning Advisory and Assessment System
The Sand and Dust Storm Warning Advisory and Assessment System (SDS-WAS) is a research activity under the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) programme. SDS-WAS aims to establish a coordinated global network of SDS research and forecasting centres to enhance operational capabilities to predict sand and dust storms and to support the development of mitigation and adaptation strategies, including Early Warning Systems (EWS).
