Recognizing the potential of WMO and the UNECE cooperation and collaboration to enhance the visibility of the WMO community, including of Meteorological and Hydrological Services in the national context, by taking on a proactive role under the Regional UN System (RUNS), and in the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE region.

Regional Association VI (Europe) decides:

(1) To invite Member States of RA VI to support the engagement of WMO with the Regional UN System, through closer cooperation in the Regional Collaborative Platform and its Issue-Based Coalitions on Environment and Climate Change, on Sustainable Food Systems, and other relevant Issue -Based Coalitions it may deem necessary, by engaging WMO Regional Specialized Meteorological Centres, e.g. RA VI Regional Climate Centres (RCC)-Network, Regional Agrometeorology Centre, Regional Training Centres and other regional bodies and experts, as appropriate,

(2) To request its relevant working structure(s) responsible for work on Sustainable Development Goals to:

(a) Coordinate this support, and to liaise with the Member States and the RA VI Working Groups, and support RA VI engagement in the Regional Forum on Sustainable Development for the UNECE region,

(b) Organize Webinars for Permanent Representatives and Hydrological Advisers in RA VI on their involvement in national implementations of Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on the distinct role of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs) and WMO in Sustainable Development.
