The Scientific Advisory Group on Modelling Applications (APPs) is the expert group of the Global Atmosphere Watch (GAW) Programme on modelling frameoworks. It encompasses multiple GAW expert groups while acknowledging their distinct modelling requirements. It focuses on applications that rely on near-real-time (NRT) data at scales beyond the urban level, including the development of boundary conditions for local models, as well as the enhancement of modelling capabilities related to dust, volcanic ash, biomass burning plumes, and health-related applications.
