WMO's Vegetation Fire and Smoke Pollution Warning Advisory and Assessment System (VFSP-WAS) was set up in 2018. It seeks to enhance the ability of countries to deliver timely and quality vegetation fire and smoke pollution forecasts, observations, information and knowledge to users through an international partnership of research and operational communities. This collaborative international partnership of research, operational and user communities facilitate the transfer of technology from research to serve society.
