The Global Cryosphere Watch (GCW) national focal points (GCW-NFP) are to be appointed by the Members’ Permanent Representatives with WMO, to support the implementation of the GCW activities in their country or territory and serve as a focal point on technical and operational matters related to GCW. There may be more than one contact in a country, standing for different communities of interest, e.g. the Member’s national meteorological and hydrological service (NMHS), research institutions, academia, other institutions with operational and/or research responsibilities for the cryosphere.
