Abstract: The international workshop on “RGB Satellite Products: Standards, Applications and Opportunities", co-sponsored by WMO and EUMETSAT, and hosted by EUMETSAT, will be held in Seeheim, Germany from 17 to 19 September 2012. The workshop theme will be covered by lectures, discussions and practical exercises involving experts and practitioners in the use of RGB satellite products for nowcasting and short-range forecasting. It is organized in liaison with, and support to, the WMO-CGMS Virtual Laboratory for Education and Training in Satellite Meteorology (VLab) and the WMO Severe Weather Forecasting Demonstration Project (SWFDP). In addition to looking at applications and training methods, the meeting will offer an opportunity to update recommendations on global standards for RGB composite satellite imagery from 2007.
Fee: No registration fee is applicable. The workshop is by invitation only.
Final Report: (as soon as available)
