The committee contributes to the development and implementation of globally coordinated systems for acquiring, processing, transmitting, and disseminating Earth system observations, modelling, forecasting, and related standards. The inaugural meeting of the committee was held in Morocco in 2022. The meeting established three working groups on Data Management and Telecommunication, Observations and Instruments, and Data Processing and Modeling. Three task teams were created within the working group on Observations and Instruments, and two within Data Management and Telecommunication.
