RA I Hydrology and Water Coordination Panel

The Panel was established through Resolution 6 (RA I Session-18) under the leadership of Dr Jean-Claude NTONGA (Cameroon) as chair of the Panel. Other members include Niger, Benin, Gabon Namibia, Kenya, Egypt, Mauritius Congo, Tunisia, and Comoros. The Panel has established three Special Teams including 1) Products and Tools – Infrastructure 2) Flood and Drought – Services and 3) Capacity Development.

Special Teams

Voluntary participation by Hydrological Advisers from Member countries and Experts are supporting the Special teams. 

The Special Team on Products and Tools is to broadly focus on activities towards assessing the infrastructure needs and legal limitations of countries towards implementing transmission of hydrological data. 

The Special Team on Flood and Droughts will explore service requirements for the integrated approach to flood and drought management. 

The Special Team on Capacity Building will map hydrological training and competency needs and harmonize these needs into a capacity building plan that is aligned with the WMO education and training plans for hydrology.
