RA VI Task Team on Research, Modelling and Prediction – Final Meeting- Highlights

The Task Team held its final meeting on 28 May 2025 ahead of its proposed integration into the RA VI Group on Research, pending validation by the RA VI Management Group. While no longer a separate entity, the Team’s functions will continue within the Group, supporting the regional development of a dedicated research, modelling and prediction pillar—one of the five pillars of the Global Framework for Climate, Weather, Water and related Environmental Services.

In this meeting, members reviewed progress on integrating the regional research project portfolio into WMO systems, preparations for the Second RA VI Scientific Forum (4–6 November in Prague), and structural changes to strengthen coordination of research activities in the Region. Key updates included a dedicated AI session at the Forum, enhancements to collaboration tools, and the evolving composition of the integrated research group.

Members of the Team confirmed their continued interest and participation, were thanked for their support and dedication, and were reminded to keep their expert profiles up to date.

The next meeting is expected to take place in a larger composition as part of the integrated RA VI Group on Research.
