Tsietsi Monare is a weather presenter on NHK Japan's Newsline program. He previously worked for South Africa's national broadcaster, the SABC. Tsietsi often participates in WMO projects to raise awareness on climate change. He has also participated in several WMO TV Weather Presenter workshops as an expert trainer in Africa.

 

DAVID ROBINSON

I work for the UK Met Office as the creative broadcast media expert/specialist. I and have been involved in the commercial weather broadcast media for over 30 years as a creative designer/trainer, studio installer/trainer and offering presenter guidance. I have worked in the UK and across the globe, with National Met Services, TV and Social Media companies.   

As an expert across weather design, broadcast graphics techniques, play-out capabilities in studio and touchscreen environments, I have an understanding of current and future weather media broadcast needs.

 

 

ADANNA ROBERTSON-QUIMBY

WMO

Adanna Robertson–Quimby is a Programme Officer at the Disaster Risk Reduction and Public Services Branch (DPS) at the WMO Secretariat. Her responsibilities include the management and oversight of activities focused on the implementation of the Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) and Impact-based Forecasting Warning Services (IBFWS). She also supports the Severe Weather Forecasting Programme (SWFP) and the general services delivery portfolio.

 

With a background and training in Meteorology and Disaster Risk Reduction Mrs. Robertson-Quimby has experience as a Meteorological Forecaster and has trained many operational meteorological personnel at the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH), a WMO Centre of Excellence for Training and Regional Climate Centre.

 

SAMUEL MUCHEMI

WMO

Samuel Muchemi is a Scientific Officer at the Disaster Risk Reduction and Public Services Branch (DPS) at the WMO Secretariat, Geneva. He has a wide experience in the service delivery area of Meteorology. As well as being a weather forecaster at the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD), he was also a TV weather presenter for the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) for many years. He has organized and conducted training in many WMO TV weather presenter training workshops.
