The Paris Olympics 2024 Research Demonstration Project (RDP) held the first in-person General Assembly from November 28 – 30, 2022. The Assembly took place at the Météo-France premises in Paris, France and gathered project partners to participate in different sessions over the three days. More than 40 participants sat around the table to carry out discussions and move forward with plans for 2023.

The objective of the Assembly was to present the 2022 modelling and experimental campaign, provide interdisciplinary exchanges, and, most importantly, define the target plans for the PANAME2023 experimental campaign. Progress and points of discussion on the high-resolution model intercomparison exercise (thunderstorms in 2017 and heat wave case studies in 2019) were presented, as well as the preliminary results of the PANAME2022 campaign in the Paris region. The General Assembly allowed interdisciplinary exchanges and the launching of studies on social sciences and impacts, air quality and nowcasting. In addition, the Assembly was also focused on the determination of new case studies from PANAME2022, long-term studies, and modelling strategies.

The assembly was also attended by representatives of the Olympic Committee, who actively contributed to the discussions and were instrumental in identifying the applications of the project's results within the framework of the Games.
