Generic AWS Tender Specifications

The generic Automatic Weather Station (AWS) Tender Specifications is a set of documents intended to support the tendering for AWSs. They are based on and are in line with the WMO guidance documentation and are neutral with respect to manufacturers. Members are invited to use them as a base for their tendering processes, and amend them as needed, to fit their needs and their own tendering process regulations. This set of documents was initially developed by the Association of Hydro-Meteorological Equipment Industry (HMEI), with support from the World Bank, and then finalized in close collaboration between WMO and HMEI. The documents posted below, are drafts for testing. For the moment, they have not been formally approved neither by WMO nor by HMEI. Prior to formally finalizing them, we are seeking feedback from Members on their experiences with this documentation to ensure that it meets their expectations and to identify possible ways of improving it. If this approach is being welcomed by Members it could possibly be followed up for the tendering of other types of systems. Tender Clauses

Lifecycle Management (word), (excel) These tender clauses (available in both, word and excel file format) are for the processes (largely admistrative), often requiring supporting hardware, facilities and training, that ensure the AWS network meets the User Requirements from the first day and well into future. |

Meteorological Information Processing System (MIPS) Requirements (word), (excel) These tender clauses (available in both, word and excel file format) are for the IT systems, often placed in the NMHS Head Office or other centralised location, that process, manage and store the data provided by the field equipment. |
