Integrated Prediction of Precipitation and Hydrology for Early Actions

The Integrated Prediction of Precipitation and Hydrology for Early Actions focuses on short time scales to improve warnings for multi-hazard events across the water cycle. It advances the WMO goal that no one is surprised by a flood by strengthening predictions for riverine, pluvial, coastal, and debris-flow flooding. The work couples weather and hydrological models and depends on better precipitation estimates, improved hydrological and soil-moisture observations, and strong ground-based networks.
